Practical Investment: Rugs That Stand the Test of Time

Hi friends,

Nish here. This is part four of "Exploring the Benefits of Owning a Designer Rug - Do You Really Need One?"

Todays article talks about the overall investment part of owning a fine hand-knotted rug.

The previous article, went into depth of the low-stress nature and maintenance of owning a hand-knotted rug. Especially a gorgeous carpet from IndoDesigner rugs :)

Hand-knotted rugs are long-lasting, easy to clean and extremely durable. Machine-made and mass produced polyester rugs, on the other hand, are often easily stained, worn down, and generally have to be replaced every year.

With a hand-made rug you get a functional piece of art you can walk on, and a design that puts a smile on your face each time you step into the room.

At their most expressive, carpets reflect the creativity and experience of their makers. The warp and weft of their every day lives - the animals around them, symbols of their faith, or their hopes for blessings and abundance - are woven into the design.

Take the time to "read" the rug and its individual elements shine through, in sunbursts and cruciforms, eagles and ram's horns, all of which are significant to the maker. Each rug has a unique story to tell, if you're willing to listen.

They're not just transient decor; they're pieces that can be passed down through generations. Consider them an investment that adds value to your home and lifestyle.

In the changing interior design world, high-quality hand-knotted rugs are still considered masterpieces that not only decorate living spaces, but also preserve the weaver's stories of craftsmanship, tradition and cultural heritage.

At Indo Designer Rugs we also strive to show clients something beyond the traditional and antique designs that are readily available. We carry designs that are produced in contemporary design from William Morris traditional to abstract modern art.

Upon finding a rug you love, you can try it in your home on approval, at no cost. Additionally, we offer after-sales service (cleaning and repair), and confirmation of the authenticity of the rugs and the certification that the carpets were not produced using child labour.

Art of the Knot

Natural fibers that are dyed all the way through whisper the secrets of durability; especially the ones Indo uses - soft New Zealand wool and merino Australian wool.

However, at the heart of a rug's longevity lies the choice of fibers. Wool has a natural resilience and can withstand high traffic areas.

Hand-knotted rugs are created with attention to detail. Each knot is an artisan's skill which contributes to a rug that stands against a flow of time.

Rugs weave a narrative that withstands the test of time, giving modern and traditional spaces comfort and style. Choosing a rug that not only complements your design but also endures the trials of everyday life is an art.

That concludes my four part segment on why purchasing a hand-knotted rug is worth your dollars. Many more rug-focused interior design tips and announcements to make. Hope you had fun reading this and informed at the same time : )

Ciao for now,

Nish
