Embracing Colour: The Timeless Elegance of Warm Tones.

Move over grey... beige is in! In the ever-evolving realm of interior design, trends come and go like fleeting seasons.

Each year, new palettes emerge, dictating the colours that will adorn our homes and shape our living spaces.

As we step into 2024, a notable shift is underway, signalling a departure from the cool austerity of grey tones to the warm embrace of sepia, beige and even 'greige'!

Grey, with its sleek modernity and understated sophistication, has long reigned supreme.

It's neutral demeanour served as the perfect canvas for minimalist aesthetics and contemporary spaces, but thats about to change. Colours like beige, amber, ivory, rust, and olive tones are taking over.

Beige Renaissance

The "beige renaissance" promises to make your home feel cozy and inviting.

Once negatively associated with the magnolia paints of the late 90's, browns, beiges, and warm neutrals are now making a comeback, evoking a sense of comfort and nostalgia.

A departure from the feelings of the past decade, greys are beginning to feel a bit over used. When our homes are filled with nothing but minimalist lines and grey tones, it can leave us with much to be desired.

Cue the sharp shift to colour!

The inclination for more colourful tones reflects our desire to make our homes feel more layered and unique. These colourful warm tones evoke nature and comfort, and are visually interesting.

Don't get us wrong, grey is not all gone! If you love grey, there are still shades that look fresh and modern.

Enter: Greige, deep greys, and even near-blacks (charcoal). These rich tones, add an element of coziness to homes.

Splashes of colours like olive tones and sepia (especially in rugs!) will keep your home looking comfortable and interesting and pair wonderfully with grey toned furniture.

Or be daring and match bold colours with neutral greys all in the same rug! Rich colours are the best way to herald the Calgary summer!
