This is made from Sheesham (she-shahm) a rosewood, indigenous to India. It is a hardwood, dense, heavy and durable.
The door is antique, but the rest is a new rosewood construction. The excellent wood carving properties and cathedral-like grain give this piece an rustic appearance.
