The art of rug weaving in India can be traced back to the sixteenth century when it was introduced during the time of the Persian Empire, under Mughal rule.
By the end of this period, the rug weaving industry had begun to truly flourish as India had developed a real talent for weaving rugs. Carpet weaving became a major medium of artistic expression and as a result of this nearly all Indian rug designs can trace their roots back to the Persian Empire.
Production method: Hand-Knotted. Persian Weave. Made in India.
